Sukkur: Divisional Commissioner Sukkur, Abid Saleem Qureshi, has imposed a 90 day ban on the movement of trolleys, trucks, and other motor vehicles carrying sand, debris and similar materials within the limits of Sukkur city during daytime hours.
The ban has been imposed under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) to ensure smooth traffic flow, facilitate citizens and control environmental pollution.
According to the notification, the restriction will remain in force till November 24, 2026, and will apply from 6: 00 am to 10: 00 pm within Sukkur city limits.
The notification stated that the measure has been taken to maintain traffic flow on busy roads, reduce difficulties faced by citizens during commuting and help control environmental pollution.
Station House Officers (SHOs) of the relevant police stations have been authorized to register complaints and initiate legal action against violators of Section 144.
The Commissioner Sukkur has directed the district administration, police and other concerned departments to ensure effective and impartial implementation of the ban.
