Lahore: Punjab Acting Governor Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan held a farewell meeting on Thursday with outgoing Chinese Consul General Zhao Shiren at the Governor’s House, marking the completion of his tenure in Pakistan.
During the meeting, both leaders discussed Pakistan-China bilateral relations, trade cooperation, and strategic partnership. They reached consensus on further strengthening collaboration in defence, education, and energy, according to a press release issued here.
The acting governor lauded Consul General Zhao’s diplomatic services and stressed that Pakistan-China friendship remains a cornerstone of the country’s foreign policy, built on sincerity and mutual trust. He highlighted the pivotal role of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in Pakistan’s development and called for fostering the friendship between the two countries for future generations.
Consul General Zhao expressed gratitude to the people of Punjab and Pakistan, saying he was leaving with many cherished memories. He noted that people-to-people contacts had strengthened bilateral relations and pledged that Pakistan-China cooperation would continue to grow across all levels in the future.
The meeting underscored the enduring partnership between Pakistan and China, reflecting strong ties in diplomacy, trade, and regional stability.
