Lahore: The Punjab government has accelerated the process of installing the CM Punjab QR panic button system to make the safety of passengers in public transport more effective.
According to official sources, this modern system has been fully installed in all metro, speedo and electric buses running in Lahore, Rawalpindi and Multan.
After this step, metro, speedo and e-buses have been connected to the QR panic button system of the Punjab Safe Cities Authority, through which passengers will be able to contact Safe City immediately in any emergency situation.
According to the authorities, by scanning the QR panic button, passengers will be able to get complete information about the relevant vehicle, driver and route. In case of any emergency, immediate help can be sought through a call to 15, video call or live chat.
It was further informed that in an emergency, the live location of the passenger and the data of the relevant vehicle will be immediately received by the Command and Control Room of the Punjab Safe Cities Authority, after which an immediate response of the police will be ensured through a modern monitoring system.
The authorities say that the aim of this modern system is to provide safe travel facilities to citizens using public transport, especially women, students and other passengers, and to enable timely action in case of any untoward incident.
