Islamabad: An Anti-Terrorism Court in Islamabad on Thursday extended Senator Mushtaq Ahmad’s physical remand by 4 days in a case linked to a protest concerning Azad Jammu and Kashmir, while the prosecution sought a 30-day remand for further investigation.
The case was heard by Duty Judge Abdul Ghafoor Kakar. During the proceedings, the prosecution requested a 30-day physical remand, arguing that further investigation was required.
The investigating officer informed the court that sticks, loudspeakers and other items had been recovered following information provided by the accused. The officer also stated that additional suspects had been identified during the course of the investigation.
After hearing arguments from both sides, the court approved a 4-day extension in Senator Mushtaq Ahmad’s physical remand instead of the 30 days requested by the prosecution.
The court directed the investigating authorities to produce the senator again on August 10 for further proceedings.
