Shaukat Yousafzai urges PTI leadership to postpone long march

Peshawar: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shaukat Yousafzai has urged the party leadership to immediately postpone the proposed long march, citing the prevailing security situation, external threats and the risk of increased terrorism.

In a letter addressed to PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and other party leaders, he said the protest should be deferred in the broader national interest and called for creating space for dialogue instead of confrontation with the state.

He recalled that PTI founder had previously called off a long march to protect the lives of party workers, and urged the leadership to consider his recommendations seriously.

The PTI had earlier postponed its planned march to Islamabad from September 27 to October 4.
