Rawalpindi: Managing Director, Suthra Punjab Agency (SPA), Rawalpindi, Rana Sajid Safdar has directed field teams to improve cleanliness standards at major commercial centres, ensure timely lifting of waste and maintain effective monitoring of sanitation operations.
During a visit to Commercial Market, he inspected staff attendance, cleanliness arrangements and various field activities.
He said a clean Rawalpindi was essential for providing a healthy environment to citizens and the business community, stressing continued field monitoring to maintain cleanliness standards.
Meanwhile, the SPA Rawalpindi carried out special cleanliness arrangements at Masajid across the city and tehsils on Friday. The activities included Masajid surroundings cleaning, lime spraying and removal of waste.
Road water spraying, soil scraping, manual sweeping and other anti-smog activities were also carried out, with field teams directed to further strengthen cleanliness and anti-smog measures.
The agency’s communication team conducted an awareness campaign at Masajid, distributing pamphlets among worshippers on cleanliness, proper waste disposal, anti-smog measures and dengue prevention.
The teams also met Masajid imams and requested them to convey messages of cleanliness and environmental protection to worshippers during Friday sermons and addresses.
The agency said cleanliness operations and public awareness activities would continue with the participation of citizens to help make Rawalpindi a clean, healthy and smog-free city.
