Sanghar: Assistant Commissioner Tando Adam, Hunain Tariq Shahani chaired a meeting on Wednesday to review arrangements for Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH), with officials stressing coordinated measures for processions, uninterrupted power supply, sanitation, traffic management and security.
Vice Chairman Tando Adam and Eid Milad Committee, President Malik Zulfiqar Ali, committee General Secretary Muhammad Ali Qadri, Chief Municipal Officer Malik Abdul Hameed, Mukhtiarkar Imamuddin Larak, Imtiaz Ansari, Medical Superintendent of Taluka Hospital Dr Ghulam Ali Samoon, Wasim Panhwar, representatives of Hesco, police, traffic police and other officials attended the meeting.
The participants reviewed the routes of the processions and arrangements for cleanliness, electricity supply, traffic flow and security. The relevant departments were directed to ensure cleanliness along the procession routes, maintain smooth traffic movement and take measures for uninterrupted power supply.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr Shahani said providing all possible facilities to citizens and participants of the processions was the administration’s responsibility. She directed the officials concerned to inspect the procession routes in advance and complete all arrangements in coordination with each other.
He said two processions would be taken out in Tando Adam on Aug 21 the first after Asr prayers and the second after Maghrib prayers. A special traffic plan would be prepared to ensure smooth movement of traffic during the processions, while traders would be requested to keep their shops closed during the specified procession timings.
The Assistant Commissioner also directed the relevant officials to approach Hesco authorities for a three-hour exemption from the scheduled loadshedding during the processions.
He further ordered special sanitation arrangements along the routes, particularly in Joharabad, Rasheed Colony, Kali Road, Muhammad Chowk and Latif Gate.
The meeting also discussed holding a government-sponsored Milad gathering and arranging a special programme at a government or private school. It was proposed that a prominent religious scholar be invited to address the Milad gathering.
The Assistant Commissioner directed all departments concerned to complete their arrangements well in time and maintain close coordination to ensure peaceful and orderly observance of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH).
