Khairpur: A mother of three children was allegedly shot dead by her brother and cousin in a suspected “honor” killing the district, the police said on Monday.
The incident occurred in the Mill colony area within the jurisdiction of B-Section police station, where the victim, identified as Iram Janwari, was fatally shot, according to police.
The police said the woman’s brother, Wazir Janwari, and her cousin, Amir Ali, are suspected of carrying out the shooting. The body was taken into police custody and transferred to a hospital for legal formalities and a post-mortem examination.
The victim’s husband, Ahmed Ali, alleged that his wife was killed over baseless accusations and called on authorities to arrest the suspects immediately and ensure they are punished in accordance with the law.
The police registered case against the accused and started investigation.
