Peshawar: The bodies of two more people who drowned in the Indus River in Swabi have been recovered, while a search operation for two others remains underway.
According to Rescue 1122 on Tuesday, five people drowned in the river in Hund area of Swabi on August 14. With the recovery of the bodies of Shakeel and Sharjeel, the bodies of three of the five victims have now been recovered.
Rescue 1122 divers retrieved the bodies of the two victims during the ongoing search operation. The bodies have been identified.
Divers from Swabi, Mardan, Nowshera, Charsadda and Peshawar are participating in the search for the two remaining missing persons. Rescue 1122 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa spokesperson Bilal Ahmad Faizi said that divers are continuing search operations at possible locations and making every effort to locate the remaining victims.
