Sukkur: Town Municipal Corporation (TMC), Nisar Ahmed Siddiqu Sukkur is all set to launch Green Sukkur Tree Plantation Drive to make the city greener and environmentally sustainable.
According to the Town Chairman Tariq Chuhan on Wednesday, the plantation drive will be held on 17th September 2026 at 10: 00 AM at Canal Road, Basheerabad, Sukkur.
Deputy Commissioner Sukkur, Nadir Shahzad Khan will be the Chief Guest on the occasion and will formally inaugurate the campaign by planting a sapling.
The event will also be attended by prominent personalities as Special Guests including Zahid Hussain Khand, Vice Chancellor, Aror University, Sukkur, Ghulam Hussain Mangnahar, Professor, IBA Sukkur, Abdul Qudoos Memon, Shabir Ahmed Memon, Pakistan Sweet Home , Abdul Jabbar Shaikh, Blood Bank Sukkur, Zubair Ahmed Mahar, Child Protection Officer Sukkur and others.
The objective of the drive is to combat climate change, improve air quality and promote a clean and green environment in Sukkur.
Officials of TMC Nisar Ahmed Siddiqu have appealed to citizens, civil society, students and social organizations to actively participate in the drive to make Sukkur green.
All arrangements for the event have been finalized in this connection.
