Lahore: City Traffic Police Lahore has issued a special traffic plan for the three-day Chehlum and annual Urs celebrations with over 1, 000 personnel deployed to regulate traffic and facilitate pilgrims.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore, Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi inspected diversion points on Sunday and reviewed traffic arrangements. SSP City Zone and other officers briefed him on traffic management measures and alternative routes.
According to traffic police, five DSPs, 111 traffic inspectors and 900 traffic wardens will perform duties under the supervision of SSP City during the events.
15 forklifts and four breakdown vehicles have been deployed to remove wrongly parked vehicles, while five parking areas have been designated for pilgrims.
The CTO said some roads would remain temporarily closed due to security arrangements.
Traffic entry will remain restricted from Chowk District Courts to the U-turn near Pir Makki on Lower Mall Road.
He advised citizens to follow traffic police instructions, use alt
ernative routes and avoid unnecessary travel on affected roads.
