Joharabad: Two children drowned in a pool of standing rainwater in Village, Nali on the outskirts of Joharabad following recent heavy rains, the official sources said on Monday.
The victims were identified as Sikandar 12 years and Muhammad Abdullah 11 years old.
According to officials, the boys had gone to bathe in stagnant rainwater near their family’s settlement when they entered a deep section and drowned.
Assistant Commissioner, Tariq Mahmood Gul, accompanied by the Khushab Tehsildar and other officials, visited the scene after receiving reports of the incident.
The officials gathered details about the tragedy, met the bereaved families and expressed their condolences.
