Chiniot: Rajuha Police Station SHO Sub-Inspector Mudassar Shahbaz, along with his team, on Sunday arrested two alleged drug peddlers during separate operations in different areas of the district and recovered 3, 940 grams of hashish from their possession. Police registered cases against the accused under relevant provisions of the narcotics laws and launched further investigation.
According to police, the arrests were made as part of an ongoing crackdown against drug peddlers under a special campaign across the district. The police teams are conducting targeted operations to curb the spread of narcotics and prevent the younger generation from falling victim to drug abuse.
District Police Officer Dr. Naveed Atif said practical measures were being taken across the district to protect the younger generation from the menace of drugs. He said police were intensifying action against those involved in the illegal drug trade.
He added that quality investigation of narcotics cases was being ensured so that the accused could be brought to justice and punished according to law.
