Two minor boys drown in Sutlej River, rescue operation was underway


Bahawalpur: Two minor boys, aged 13 and 9, drowned while bathing in the Sutlej River near the river bridge, a few kilometers from Bahawalpur city, on Sunday.



According to Rescue 1122, the control room received an emergency call reporting that two young boys identified as 13-year-old Ali Gohar, son of Shakir Ali, and 9-year-old Muhammad Rayan, son of Muhammad Younas, both residents of the locality adjacent to the Bahawalpur Railway Station had slipped into deep water and drowned near the river bridge while bathing.



Promptly responding to the call, Rescue 1122 dispatched an emergency team.



Rescue personnel at the scene stated that the section of the river where the children went missing was approximately 10 to 12 feet deep and 15 to 20 feet wide. Upon arrival, divers and emergency staff immediately launched a comprehensive search and rescue operation to locate the missing boys.



The operation was underway.
