Lahore: Principal Ameer-ud-Din Medical College (AMC), Postgraduate Medical Institute (PGMI) and Lahore General Hospital (LGH) Prof. Dr. Jodat Saleem, along with faculty members, held a detailed meeting with newly appointed University of Health Sciences (UHS) Vice Chancellor Major General (R) Prof. Dr. Sohail Sabir at his office on Sunday to discuss measures for further improving the quality of medical education.
The meeting focused on reforms in the examination system, strengthening academic and research collaboration between the two institutions, and aligning students’ assessment with international standards.
The participants discussed strategies to make the examination system transparent, effective and standards-based in accordance with modern requirements. They also deliberated on establishing a comprehensive MCQs bank and adopting improved assessment mechanisms for medical students.
The heads of the two institutions agreed to undertake joint academic initiatives to promote health education, strengthen the research culture and enhance professional training of medical staff.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Major General (R) Prof. Dr. Sohail Sabir congratulated Prof. Dr. Jodat Saleem on assuming charge as Principal and presented him a commemorative shield.
Prof. Dr. Jodat Saleem and the LGH faculty members also congratulated the UHS Vice Chancellor on his appointment and expressed their best wishes.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continued mutual cooperation for the promotion of medical education, research and improvement of the healthcare system.
