Faisalabad: Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Managing Director Saqib Raza has ordered a high state of operational readiness across the city and warned that any negligence in drainage operations
or emergency response would invite strict action under zero-tolerance policy.
Chairing a meeting, he reviewed monsoon preparedness and directed all field formations to ensure that monsoon emergency camps remained fully operational, with complete staff attendance and the availability of dewatering sets and all other essential equipment at designated locations.
He said that with the onset of rainy season, the agency’s entire workforce must focus on ensuring the prompt disposal of rainwater and addressing sewerage-related issues without delay.
He stressed that sewerage challenges should be resolved promptly and in accordance with prescribed standards as negligence or poor performance would not be tolerated.
He further instructed that supervisors of all WASA subdivisions must remain present in the field to monitor operations closely and ensure that public complaints relating to sewerage and drainage were resolved on the spot.
