World Population Day marked with family planning mega camps across Sanghar district

Sanghar: The Population Welfare Department organised mega camps across Sanghar district on Saturday to mark World Population Day, offering women free family planning services, including permanent and temporary contraceptive procedures, counselling and reproductive healthcare.



The camps were established at Reproductive Health Services A (RHSA) centres in Sanghar, Shahdadpur, Tando Adam, Khipro and Sinjhoro, where specialist lady doctors and trained medical staff provided modern contraceptive methods, free medicines and awareness sessions on reproductive health, maternal and child wellbeing, and responsible family planning.



The main ceremony was held at the RHSA Centre in Tando Adam and was inaugurated by Director General of Population Welfare Sindh Shahabuddin Memon and District Population Welfare Officer Asghar Ali Arain.



Speaking to the media, Memon, Arain and Bridge Consultant District Manager Ali Sher Dahri said that World Population Day aimed to raise public awareness about balanced population growth, maternal and child health, and the importance of informed family planning. They said the department remained committed to expanding access to quality reproductive healthcare services and promoting healthy families through modern family planning programmes.



Among those present on the occasion were Medical Superintendent of Taluka Hospital Tando Adam Ghulam Ali Samoon, Medical Officer Dr Sanghar Zaib, Naveed Hisbani, Zulfiqar Ali Bugti, Yar Mohammad Baloch, Saleem Brohi, Akhtar Soomro and other officials and healthcare personnel.
