PESHAWAR:The journalists would be awarded Rs. 30,000 prize money in the fifth Ameer Ahmad Siddiqui Media Award to be held on Novermber 5 at Peshawar Press Club (PPC).
The award was initiated six years ago on the name of renowned Peshawar based journalist, late Ameer Ahmad Siddiqui which was given to the selected journalists every year with the support of family members of Ameer Siddiqui and senior journalists, said a press release issued on Monday.
The judges committee was comprised of Editor Dawn (North), Ismail Khan, Chairman Journalism Department University of Peshawar, Faizullah Khan, Director Aurat Foundation Peshawar, Shabina Ayaz, senor journalists and former president of Khyber Union of Journalists, Abdullah Jan, senior journalist and former president of PPC, Jahangir Khattak (America), Editor Independent Urdu, Haroon Rashid, senior journalist, Zalan Momand, BC Dawn News Peshawar, Ali Akbar and senior photo journalist, Abdul Majid Goraya.
Renowned journalist, Rahimullah Yousufzai (Late) was supervising the affairs of the award for the last six years and was the chairman of the Judges’ Committee however, after his death senior journalist; Ismail Khan of Dawn was heading the committee.
