Mardan: A training workshop here on Friday equipped university students with skills to analyze the current situation of Citywide Inclusive Sanitation (CWIS), validate evidence and use research findings for effective policy advocacy.

The workshop was organized with the support of Freshwater Action Network South Asia Pakistan (FANSA Pakistan) under the auspices of the Integrated Regional Support Programme (IRSP).

Students from various universities participated in the training, which focused on developing a better understanding of CWIS-related findings and strengthening participants’ ability to contribute to policymaking through evidence-based advocacy.

IRSP representatives Aziz Ahmad, Muhammad Ismail and Nosheen Sardar conducted the training and held detailed discussions with participants on CWIS, the importance of credible evidence and effective approaches to policy advocacy.

Through practical examples, the participants were guided on methods for collecting, verifying and presenting reliable evidence while examining specific issues and situations.

The students actively participated in the session and raised questions on various aspects of CWIS, research and policy advocacy.

The organizers said such training programmes helped young people develop research and analytical skills and build their capacity to present evidence-based perspectives on policy-related issues.
