Police, security forces seize explosive materials

PESHAWAR: Tank police and security forces on Friday foiled a terror plan by seizing explosive materials weighing over four kilograms.

DPO Sajjad Ahmed Sahibzada told media that explosive materials had been planted outside the house of a man named Akbar who was hailing from South Waziristan in Dr. Rabnawaz Street.

He said that security forces and the police personnel including DSP Headquarters Inamullah Gandapur, SHO City Gul Wali Khan along with Bomb Disposal Squad sealed all the internal and external routes of the Dr. Rabnawaz street to deal with any emergency.

The surrounding houses were evacuated before Police Bomb Disposal Squad defused the improvised explosive device (IED) with utmost skill.

DPO said that the bomb weighed more than four kilograms and the law enforcement personnel took a prompt action and foiled the terror plan.

He appreciated the Bomb Disposal Squad, DSP Headquarters Inamullah Gandapur, SHO City Gul Wali Khan, security forces and police personnel and Rescue 1122 personnel for their timely action and awarded certificates of appreciation.

The locals have, too, lauded the security forces and DPO and all other concerned agencies for taking timely action to save the area from destruction.
