ISLAMABAD:Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates, Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salim Al Zaabi on Thursday joined the Pink Ribbon campaign for breast cancer awareness.
The activity was organized by Islamabad Diagnostic Centre (IDC) to create awareness about the importance of early detection from breast cancer.
The envoy inaugurated the event with ribbon cutting on the importance of breast cancer awareness amongst women globally.
Addressing on the occasion, he said Pakistan has the highest incidence of breast cancer cases in Asia and such initiatives can help to raise awareness on this widespread disease and also to take appropriate measures for prevention from breast cancer.
He expressed his solidarity and seriousness in raising awareness about the timely detection and protection from breast cancer. He said “UAE Embassy and IDC will join hands to support such awareness initiatives in future as well.”
He appreciated IDC diagnostics including Covid and specially for providing the Rapid Covid PCR tests for the UAE travellers.
CEO IDC, Dr. Rizwan Uppal expressed his gratitude to the ambassador and the Embassy of UAE for this joint collaboration to support Pink Ribbon initiative. He said “The only ray of hope for curing breast cancer lies in early detection.”
