Islamabad: Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration has intensified anti-encroachment operations across the federal capital, with 20 people arrested and 6 vehicles shifted to police stations during actions carried out by assistant commissioners in different areas of the city.
The operations targeted roadside encroachments, illegal dumping points, and unauthorized use of public land along major routes.
According to district administration officials, daily enforcement activities continued across Islamabad to remove encroachments and ensure compliance with municipal regulations.
In the Saddar area, the Assistant Commissioner conducted an operation along GT Road against illegal encroachments. During the action, eight individuals were arrested for setting up unauthorized structures and occupying public space. A Hiace vehicle linked to the encroachment activity was also taken into custody and shifted to a local police station.
Meanwhile, the Assistant Commissioner City led operations against illegal dumping and storage points in the F-7 and F-6 sectors. Officials reported that nine individuals were arrested in F-7 for establishing an unauthorized dumping material point. In a separate action in F-6, three more individuals were taken into custody. Authorities also seized five loaders, which were transported to the police station for further proceedings.
In the rural area of Islamabad, the Assistant Commissioner Rural carried out enforcement action against roadside encroachments. During the operation, three individuals were arrested for occupying public land along road corridors. The suspects were transferred to police custody.
District administration officials said anti-encroachment drives are being conducted on a daily basis across Islamabad. The administration stated that operations will continue against illegal structures, unauthorized dumping sites, and activities that obstruct roads or public spaces.
Authorities urged residents and business operators to comply with regulations and avoid establishing encroachments on roadsides and government land. Officials added that enforcement teams will continue monitoring different sectors and major roads to prevent the re-establishment of illegal occupations and ensure unobstructed public access throughout the capital.
