Bahawalpur: Police claimed on Sunday to have arrested 20 suspects from various parts of the district during the last 24 hours and recovered narcotics and illegal weapons from their possession. In a crackdown, the teams of City Ahmedpur East, Uch Sharif, Nowshera Jadeed, Derawar, Sadr Bahawalpur, Abbas Nagar, City Ahmedpur East, Sadr Ahmedpur East, City Yazman, Derawar and Qaimpur police stations raided at their respective areas and arrested 20 suspects including five of category-A proclaimed offenders, 12 suspects involved in narcotics-related offences, and three individuals for possessing illegal weapons.
The police recovered 95 litres liquor, 3. 48 kg hashish, 131 grams of crystal meth, 1. 1 kilogram cannabis, a 44-bore rifle and two 30-bore pistols from their possession. Cases have been registered against the accused. Further investigation was underway.
