Kohat: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police continued efforts to strengthen operational preparedness, honour the sacrifices of fallen personnel and improve public service delivery through a series of activities across the province.

In Kohat, DSP Headquarters Imaduddin, on the directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Kohat SSP Rai Mazhar Iqbal, on Tuesday visited the graves of police martyrs within the jurisdiction of Ustarzai Police Station. Accompanied by SHO Ustarzai Adnan Khan and a police contingent, he paid tribute to the martyrs, laid floral wreaths and offered Fateha for the eternal peace of the departed souls and patience for their families.

Speaking on the occasion, DSP Imaduddin said police personnel who sacrificed their lives for the security and peace of the country were a source of pride for the department and their services would always be remembered.

Meanwhile, DPO Kohat SSP Rai Mazhar Iqbal inspected Saddar Police Station along with DSP Saddar and SHO Saddar. During the inspection, he reviewed the malkhana, armory, official records and daily diaries, directing officers to ensure proper record maintenance, secure handling of weapons and strict administrative discipline.

The DPO also met citizens at the police station, listened to their complaints and instructed officials to resolve public grievances promptly and fairly. He reviewed cleanliness, security arrangements and public facilities, reiterating that Kohat Police remained committed to controlling crime and safeguarding the lives and property of citizens.

In another development, Inspector General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Zulfikar Hamid handed over an advanced Protector APC (B7 Level RCW) equipped with a WB-300 Jammer System to District Police Officer Tank to enhance operational capabilities in high-risk areas.

The IG KP said the modern armoured vehicle would strengthen police response against terrorism, landmine threats and ambush attacks. He added that the force was being equipped with advanced technology and resources to meet emerging security challenges, while operations against terrorists would continue without interruption. He reaffirmed that protection of police personnel, elimination of terrorism and ensuring public safety remained the department’s top priorities.

Larkana: Deputy Commissioner of Qambar-Shahdadkot, Kamran Hussain Mushtaq, conducted a detailed inspection of the Flood Protection (FP) works from Kachi Pul to Ghaibi Dero on Tuesday to review the current status of protective measures in view of the rainy season and to assess the preparedness of the Irrigation Department.

During the inspection, Executive Engineer (XEN) Irrigation Gaj Division and other relevant officials were present. The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the progress and quality of the flood protection works and received a detailed briefing on the steps taken to strengthen sensitive locations.

Deputy Commissioner directed the Irrigation Department and all relevant officials to remain constantly vigilant, ensure the timely completion of all flood protection works, and keep all necessary machinery, equipment, and staff fully prepared to deal with any emergency situation.

He further said that no negligence would be tolerated in the protection of public lives, property, and important infrastructure. He directed the relevant departments to maintain regular monitoring and mutual coordination throughout the entire monsoon season.

The district administration of Qambar-Shahdadkot is fully committed to ensuring advance preparedness and safeguarding citizens from potential flood risks.

Mirpurkhas: Mirpurkhas Police have solved a major robbery case in Jhudo, arresting four suspects and recovering the stolen cash, the motorcycle allegedly used in the crime and a weapon, officials said on Tuesday.

Addressing a press conference, DSP Jhudo Abdul Ghafoor Khaskheli, CIA In-charge Inspector Zeeshan Lashari, SHO Jhudo Abid Zardari, SHO Digri Sanjay Kumar and Taluqa SHO Mujeeb Narijo said armed suspects had looted Rs2 million from a confectionery shop on Saman Sarkar Road, Jhudo, on the night of July 19, 2026, before escaping on motorcycles.

Following directions from DIG Mirpurkhas Range Captain (retd) Faisal Abdullah Chachar and SSP Mirpurkhas Syed Fida Hussain Shah, a special investigation team was constituted to trace the culprits. The team used modern investigation techniques, CCTV footage and intelligence-based information to make progress in the case.

Police said the arrested suspects were identified as Rashid, son of Noorang Banglani, a resident of Samaro; Shahid, son of Muhammad Akram Bhatti, of SRTC Colony Mirpurkhas; Somro, son of Nabi Bakhsh, of Baloch Colony Jhudo; and Qasim Chandio, son of Nabi Bakhsh. Police recovered the looted cash, a Honda CG-125 motorcycle allegedly used in the robbery and a pistol from their possession.

Officials said further investigation was underway to uncover other aspects of the case. SSP Mirpurkhas Syed Fida Hussain Shah said strict action against criminal elements would continue and all available resources were being utilised to protect the lives and property of citizens.

Muzaffargarh: Two minor girls died after falling into sewer line outside their home in Layyah district on Tuesday. According to police, the incident occurred at Pitafi Chowk in MouzaSarishta Thal Jandi, in the jurisdiction of Pir Juggi police station where eight-year-old Tehreem Fatima and seven-year-old Zainab fell into a sewer line and died. On information, Pir Juggi Police and Assistant Commissioner Layyah reached the spot and started investigation.

Mirpurkhas: Mirpurkhas Police have launched a major crackdown against illegal gutka trade, seizing 33, 000 sachets of Safina Gutka worth millions of rupees and arresting one suspect during an operation on Hyderabad Road.

Acting on the directives of DIG Mirpurkhas Range Captain (retd) Faisal Abdullah Chachar and SSP Mirpurkhas Syed Fida Hussain Shah, a CIA police team led by In-charge Inspector Zeeshan Lashari and In-charge 15 Abbas Ali Abbasi on Tuesday intercepted a suspicious truck bearing registration number Z-7474 near the National Bank.

During a detailed search, police discovered specially designed hidden compartments inside the vehicle containing 10 sacks of Safina Gutka. A total of 33, 000 sachets were recovered from the concealed storage area, officials said.

Police arrested Muhammad Waseem, son of Khalil Ahmed Malik, a resident of Ward No. 3, Digri, while his alleged accomplice Muhammad alias Muhammad Bakhsh Gorchani of Mirwah Gorchani escaped from the scene. Police said raids were underway to arrest the absconding suspect.

A case has been registered at Old Mirpur Police Station under FIR No. 32/2026 under Sections 4 and 8 of the Sindh Prohibition of Preparation and Marketing of Gutka (SPPM) Act. Further investigation is continuing to identify other individuals involved in the illegal trade.

SSP Mirpurkhas Syed Fida Hussain Shah appreciated the police team’s performance and said indiscriminate action against those involved in the sale of narcotics and hazardous substances would continue. He urged citizens to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and report suspicious activities to the authorities.

Hyderabad: A meeting of the District Coordination Apex Committee, constituted under the National Action Plan (NAP) was held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner Tharparkar Abdul Haleem Jagirani at his office on Tuesday.

According to a handout, the meeting reviewed the overall law and order situation in the district, implementation of the National Action Plan, crime prevention efforts and ongoing actions against narcotics, smuggling, power theft and other illegal activities.

Jagirani directed the relevant departments to compile updated data on unregistered madaris, expedite legal action against illegally residing foreign nationals, ensure transparency in matters related to NADRA-blocked Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) and provide maximum facilitation to affected citizens.

He also stressed that strict and indiscriminate legal action should continue against drug dealers, smugglers, electricity thieves, operators of illegal petrol pumps and all those involved in unlawful activities. He emphasized that all departments should strengthen coordination and cooperation to ensure effective implementation of the National Action Plan, with the objective of maintaining lasting peace, upholding the rule of law and safeguarding the lives and property of the public . The officers of all relevant departments attended the meeting.
