Rescue 1122 deploys teams as monsoon rains batter


Sargodha: Rescue 1122 has placed its emergency response teams on high alert across Sargodha district, deploying personnel and specialised equipment in low-lying areas to deal with rain-related emergencies amid the ongoing monsoon spell.



District Emergency Officer(DEO), Mazhar Shah said on Saturday that the deployment had been made on the directives of Emergency Services Department Secretary Dr. Rizwan Naseer and Deputy Commissioner(DC), Hussain Ahmad Chaudhary.



He said rescue teams were carrying out evacuations in vulnerable localities and assisting stranded motorists by shifting vehicles from waterlogged roads to safer places.



Shah said he was personally overseeing the operation, with trained rescuers, ambulances and specialised rescue vehicles stationed at sensitive locations to ensure a prompt response to emergencies and minimise risks to life and property.



He added that all Rescue 1122 stations and the central control room had been placed on high alert to monitor the situation round the clock while teams were also working to keep traffic moving in rain-affected areas.



The DEO urged residents to avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rainfall and stay away from open manholes, electricity poles and hanging wires.



He advised the public to contact the Rescue 1122 helpline immediately in case of any emergency.

Livestock Director orders uninterrupted veterinary services at flood relief camps


Faisalabad: Director Livestock Dr. Haider Ali Khan visited flood-affected areas of Chiniot district to assess operations, inspect veterinary services for stranded livestock and direct field teams to maintain round-the-clock preparedness to safeguard both human lives and animals amid prevailing flood situation.



During visit, he inspected flood relief camps established at Adda Jamia Abad Muhammadi Sharif and Adda Pathankot Bhawana, where he reviewed ongoing relief activities, flood preparedness measures and veterinary assistance being provided to livestock owned by affected farmers.



Additional Director Livestock Chiniot Dr. Atta Subhani, Dr. Salman Shabbir Bhatti, Deputy Director Livestock Bhawana and Deputy Director Livestock Chiniot Dr. Muhammad Wajid accompanied him during the inspection.



The Livestock Director examined the availability of veterinary staff, emergency medicines, vaccines and mobile veterinary services at the relief camps.



He also reviewed arrangements made for safe evacuation, shelter and protection of livestock from flood-hit localities.



Dr. Haider Ali Khan received a detailed briefing from Rescue 1122 officials and officers of other relevant departments regarding the current flood situation, available resources, emergency response measures and coordinated arrangements for the timely evacuation of people and animals from vulnerable areas.



He directed all concerned departments to maintain effective coordination, close inter-agency cooperation, round-the-clock operational readiness and an immediate response mechanism throughout the flood emergency so that every possible step could be taken for the protection of human lives and livestock.



Later, the Director Livestock visited the office of Deputy Director Livestock, Bhawana, Chiniot, where he reviewed departmental performance, flood emergency preparedness and ongoing field operations.



He instructed the livestock officers and field teams to ensure uninterrupted provision of veterinary services, medicines and timely assistance to livestock farmers in flood-affected areas.



He emphasized that protecting livestock was imperative for safeguarding the livelihoods of rural communities during emergency.

Security Forces continue Operation Al-Azm in Balochistan, 13 terrorists killed


Quetta: Security forces are continuing intelligence-based Operation Al-Azm in Balochistan, carrying out targeted counterterrorism operations against Fitna al-Hindustan terrorists. Security sources said the latest operation was conducted in the Khad Kocha area of Mastung district, where security forces successfully engaged terrorist elements, inflicting heavy losses on the group.

Security sources said the total number of terrorists killed since the launch of Operation Al-Azm has risen to 13. During the operation, security forces destroyed several terrorist hideouts and recovered a cache of weapons, ammunition, and materials used for manufacturing improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

Several Fitna al-Hindustan terrorists were also injured during the operation, the sources said. The operation is continuing to eliminate the remaining terrorist elements and dismantle their infrastructure in the area.

SP awards commendation certificate to SHO Sariab for outstanding performance in combating crime


Quetta: Superintendent of Police (SP) Sariab Abid Bukhari and DSP Talib Hussain awarded with a commendation certificate to SHO Sariab Police Station Fazlur Rehman Khilji in appreciation of his excellent professional performance, effective actions against criminal elements, establishment of law and order and spirit of public service on Saturday.



On this occasion, SP Abid Bukhari said that practical steps were being taken to eliminate crime activities in respective areas for maintaining peace. He said that it is the tradition of the police department to encourage police officers who demonstrate duty, honesty and excellent performance so that other officers also perform their duties with more passion for the protection of life and property of the public and the rule of law.



Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Talib Hussain said that Fazlur Rehman Khilji has rendered valuable services through crime eradication, effective patrolling, roadblocks and people-friendly policing, which must be appreciated.



SHO Fazlur Rehman Khilji thanked SP Sariab and DSP Talib Hussain for this honour.



He said that he would continue to perform their responsibilities with complete honesty and dedication to protect the lives and property of the people, establish peace, and eradicate crime.

Quetta Met office forecast rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds across Balochistan


Quetta: The Regional Meteorological Center Quetta has forecast partly cloudy weather with rain, wind, and thunderstorms including a few heavy falls at isolated places across several districts of Balochistan over the next 48-72 hours.



Scattered rainfall is expected in Zhob, Sherani, Barkhan, Musakhel, Duki, Loralai, Quetta, Ziarat, Harnai, Killa Saifullah, Kohlu, Dera Bugti, Sibi, Khuzdar, Surab, Kalat, Mastung, Awaran, Kech, Panjgur, Hub, Lasbella, Naseerabad division, Jhal Magsi, and Usta Muhammad. Occasionally strong gusty winds are likely in most parts of the province.



Meanwhile, mainly hot weather will prevail in Nokkundi, Washuk, Dalbandin, Kharan, Panjgur, Noshki, Sibi, Naseerabad, Jhal Magsi, and Usta Muhammad.



The maximum temperature recorded was 43. 5°C in Dalbandin, while the minimum was 32. 0°C in Gwadar. Authorities have advised residents to remain cautious of strong winds and localized heavy rainfall, which may affect travel and daily activities.

Hub Police crack down on criminals, drug dealers and illegal arms holders


Quetta: Acting on the directives of Inspector General Balochistan Police Muhammad Tahir, Hub District Police under the supervision of SP Mirza Bilal Hassan and SDPO Hub Circle continued their uninterrupted crackdown against criminal elements, drug traffickers, and illegal arms holders.



According to a press release issued by Hub Police, City Police conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) and successfully arrested a suspect wanted in case number 265/2026 under sections 353, 324, 186, 427, 341, 147, 148, 149 of the Pakistan Penal Code along with section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act. The accused was on the police’s wanted list.



In another operation within Sakran Police jurisdiction, one suspect was arrested for possession of an unlicensed 30-bore pistol along with a magazine and two live rounds. A case was registered under section 15-E of the Balochistan Arms Ordinance (case number 54/2026).



Separately, Sakran Police apprehended another suspect during motorcycle snap-checking and recovered 1, 500 grams of hashish. A case was registered under section 9(1)3(c) of the CNSA (case number 53/2026), and further investigation is underway.



Hub Police reaffirmed that operations against criminals, drug dealers, and illegal arms holders will continue without interruption, with arrested suspects facing interrogation and legal proceedings.
