Quetta: A special panel discussion titled “Empowering Youth: Opportunities, Skills and Future of Gwadar” was organized at the GDA Auditorium under the Gwadar Youth Festival 2026 by the Balochistan Rural Support Programme (BRSP).

The event focused on youth skills development, employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.

Speaking on the occasion, participants emphasized the importance of education, technical skills and entrepreneurship in shaping the future of Gwadar’s youth.

BRSP CEO Dr. Tahir Rashid highlighted the launch of the RISE Programme in collaboration with the Government of Balochistan to promote youth empowerment and sustainable livelihoods.

MPA Gwadar Maulana Hidayat Ur Rehman urged young people to equip themselves with modern skills to secure better employment and contribute to economic growth.

The event concluded with the distribution of medals and certificates among winners of the artwork painting competition.

Quetta: The Balochistan government, in a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, has decided to launch an immediate sanitization operation in Hanna Urak and adjoining areas to eliminate terrorists and their facilitators.

The meeting, attended by Provincial Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove, cabinet members, senior civil and military officials, and representatives of law enforcement agencies, reviewed the province’s overall law and order situation with particular focus on Hanna Urak. Officials provided a detailed briefing on the recent tragic incident and the broader security environment.

Several key measures were approved to restore peace. CM Bugti directed indiscriminate action against all those involved in terrorism, stressing that operations must continue until perpetrators are brought to justice. He firmly stated that the writ of the state would not be compromised under any circumstances.

To strengthen security, the meeting also approved the activation of a joint check post where all law enforcement agencies will work together to monitor terrorist movements and ensure a safe environment for citizens.

Expressing condolences to the families of those martyred in the Hanna Urak tragedy, the Chief Minister instructed that financial assistance and official compensation be provided within two days to support affected families.

The meeting also addressed the concerns of peaceful protesters. CM Bugti emphasized that peaceful protest is a constitutional and democratic right, and the government is committed to addressing legitimate demands. A high-level committee led by Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove and Provincial Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar has been formed to engage with protesters, tribal elders, elected representatives, civil society, and other stakeholders to find a sustainable solution through dialogue.

Paying tribute to the bravery and patriotism of Hanna Urak’s people, CM Bugti said their courage in confronting terrorist elements reflects Balochistan’s proud tribal traditions and loyalty to the homeland. He stressed that terrorism is not confined to one area, tribe, or community, but is a collective challenge for Balochistan and Pakistan, requiring national unity, cooperation, and a joint strategy.

Reaffirming his government’s commitment, CM Bugti declared that protecting the lives and property of citizens remains the top priority. He vowed that all available resources would be utilized to eradicate terrorism, establish lasting peace, uphold the writ of the state, and provide relief to affected communities until the menace is rooted out completely.

Quetta: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Monday said that establishing durable peace in the province is top priority of government and operations against terrorist elements would continue with full force for development of the areas.

He expressed these views while meeting with various senior officials, political leaders and heads of government institutions separately at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat here, in which the overall law and order situation of the province, public service, governance, improvement of the energy sector and other important administrative issues were discussed in detail.

Inspector General of Police Balochistan Muhammad Tahir Khan, during his meeting with the Chief Minister, gave a detailed briefing on law and order situation in the province, ongoing operations against terrorism, security arrangements in sensitive districts and steps taken to protect the lives and property of the people.

The Chief Minister said that establishing peace in Balochistan is the top priority of the government and operations against terrorist elements will continue with full force.

He also reiterated the government’s commitment to make the professional capabilities of the police force more effective and provide them with all possible resources.

Inspector General Prisons Balochistan Captain (retd) Asim Qaimkhani also met the Chief Minister.

On this occasion, the ongoing reforms in the province’s prison system, security arrangements, welfare of prisoners, correctional programs and issues related to increasing the administrative capacity of prisons were reviewed.

The Chief Minister directed that the prisons should be made more effective as correctional centers by aligning them with modern requirements. Pakistan Muslim League (N) Balochistan Parliamentary Leader Mir Saleem Khan Khosa also met the Chief Minister.

The overall political situation of the province, public issues, ongoing development projects, legislation and issues related to public welfare were discussed in the meeting.

The CM said that the government believes in consultation and cooperation with all political forces to meet the expectations of the people, promote transparent governance and sustainable development of Balochistan.

Acting Chief Executive Officer of QESCO Balochistan, Shaukat Jogezai, met with Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti.

The meeting discussed issues related to power supply in the province, load management, improvement of transmission and distribution systems, development projects and provision of better facilities to consumers.

The Chief Minister directed that all available resources should be utilized to ensure uninterrupted and better power supply to the people and effective steps should be taken for timely redressal of complaints.

The CM Bugti visited the local hospital and inquired about the health of Muhammad Akbar.

The Chief Minister prayed for his speedy recovery and directed the concerned doctors to leave no stone unturned in providing the best and quality medical facilities to the patient.

Mir Sarfraz Bugti said on the occasion that the Balochistan government is taking practical steps to establish law and order, effective governance, public welfare, provision of basic facilities and increase the capacity of government institutions.

He reiterated the commitment that further accelerating the pace of public service, transparent administration and development process are among the top priorities of the government.

Quetta: Balochistan Provincial Minister for Irrigation, Mir Muhammad Sadiq Umrani strongly condemned the destructive act committed by terrorist elements in Unna Urak, a suburb of Quetta, last night.

In his statement, the provincial minister said that targeting of unarmed people by armed groups is an unacceptable and worrisome act.

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Central Committee Member and Parliamentary leader Mir Muhammad Sadiq Umrani said that law enforcement agencies were making serious efforts to eliminate these non-state elements with the cooperation of local tribes and effective action would be taken against them soon.

The Minister prayed for the elevation of the ranks of those martyred in the incident and said that may Allah Almighty grant all the martyrs a high place in Paradise and grant patience to the survivors.

He also prayed for early recovery of the injured.

Quetta: Aide to the Chief Minister Balochistan on Political and Media Affairs, Shahid Rind, has announced that security forces have launched a full-scale operation against terrorists in Hanna Urak and Babri, aimed at completely clearing the areas of militant elements and ensuring the safety of citizens.

He added that terrorists have suffered heavy losses during the operation, as forces are pursuing them with professionalism and determination. The operation, he added, will continue uninterrupted until the complete elimination of terrorist networks.

Shahid Rind confirmed that four personnel of the Anti-Terrorist Force (ATF) were injured during the operation and are receiving immediate medical treatment. He expressed his best wishes for their speedy recovery, praising the courage and sacrifice of security personnel in the fight against terrorism.

To tighten control, all entry and exit points of Hanna Urak and Babri have been sealed, preventing the movement or escape of hostile elements. Shahid Rind emphasized that the Balochistan government is pursuing a zero-tolerance policy against terrorism and will utilize all available resources until peace is fully restored.

He assured that the protection of citizens’ lives and property remains the government’s top priority, and necessary safety measures have been taken to minimize inconvenience to the public during the operation.

Appealing to the people, Shahid Rind urged them not to pay attention to rumors and rely only on verified information issued by the Balochistan government, law enforcement agencies, and other official sources. He stressed that the government is closely monitoring the situation and will continue to keep the public informed with timely updates.

Quetta: Director General of Balochistan Food Authority (BFA) Habibullah Khan on Monday said that the BFA’s team is taking actions against harmful vegetables in the third consecutive day and 28 acres of ready harmful vegetable crops cultivated with canal water have been destroyed in Quetta.

He said that these vegetable grown from polluted sewage water are a major threat to public health, unhealthy crops including mint, cabbage, beetroot and salad were destroyed on CPEC Road near new Sabzal saying that special teams of Balochistan Food Authority are continuously active in the field to eliminate unsafe vegetables.

The DG said that legal action would be taken against those who grow vegetables using sewage water, there is no compromise on the health of citizens and endangering public life for personal gain would not be allowed.

DGBFA mentioned that farmers have been informed several times that only non-edible crops are allowed to be cultivated with sewage water, the main objective of Balochistan Food Authority’s crackdown is to completely eliminate the production and sale of unhealthy vegetables.

He said that crackdown against harmful vegetable would be continued indiscriminate and strict legal action against those elements who could endanger public health.

The DG said that an effective farm-to-market monitoring system is being strengthened to ensure implementation of food safety laws.
