Quetta: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Monday said that establishing durable peace in the province is top priority of government and operations against terrorist elements would continue with full force for development of the areas.
He expressed these views while meeting with various senior officials, political leaders and heads of government institutions separately at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat here, in which the overall law and order situation of the province, public service, governance, improvement of the energy sector and other important administrative issues were discussed in detail.
Inspector General of Police Balochistan Muhammad Tahir Khan, during his meeting with the Chief Minister, gave a detailed briefing on law and order situation in the province, ongoing operations against terrorism, security arrangements in sensitive districts and steps taken to protect the lives and property of the people.
The Chief Minister said that establishing peace in Balochistan is the top priority of the government and operations against terrorist elements will continue with full force.
He also reiterated the government’s commitment to make the professional capabilities of the police force more effective and provide them with all possible resources.
Inspector General Prisons Balochistan Captain (retd) Asim Qaimkhani also met the Chief Minister.
On this occasion, the ongoing reforms in the province’s prison system, security arrangements, welfare of prisoners, correctional programs and issues related to increasing the administrative capacity of prisons were reviewed.
The Chief Minister directed that the prisons should be made more effective as correctional centers by aligning them with modern requirements. Pakistan Muslim League (N) Balochistan Parliamentary Leader Mir Saleem Khan Khosa also met the Chief Minister.
The overall political situation of the province, public issues, ongoing development projects, legislation and issues related to public welfare were discussed in the meeting.
The CM said that the government believes in consultation and cooperation with all political forces to meet the expectations of the people, promote transparent governance and sustainable development of Balochistan.
Acting Chief Executive Officer of QESCO Balochistan, Shaukat Jogezai, met with Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti.
The meeting discussed issues related to power supply in the province, load management, improvement of transmission and distribution systems, development projects and provision of better facilities to consumers.
The Chief Minister directed that all available resources should be utilized to ensure uninterrupted and better power supply to the people and effective steps should be taken for timely redressal of complaints.
The CM Bugti visited the local hospital and inquired about the health of Muhammad Akbar.
The Chief Minister prayed for his speedy recovery and directed the concerned doctors to leave no stone unturned in providing the best and quality medical facilities to the patient.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti said on the occasion that the Balochistan government is taking practical steps to establish law and order, effective governance, public welfare, provision of basic facilities and increase the capacity of government institutions.
He reiterated the commitment that further accelerating the pace of public service, transparent administration and development process are among the top priorities of the government.
