FAISALABAD:Three arrested accused managed to escape from the lockup of D-Type Colony police station, and the city police officer (CPO) suspended three police officers including the station house officer (SHO) and muharrar for negligence of duty.
A police spokesman said here on Monday that D-Type Colony police had arrested three dacoity accused including Aqib Javaid and Ehsan in case No.165/23 and Umair in case No. 1136/23 and were under investigation.
The police officials were shifting a sick accused from the lockup when the three accused managed to escape from detention.
CPO Usman Akram Gondal took action and suspended SHO Mazhar Irfan, Muharrar Naim and security guard Imran.
The CPO also directed the SP Iqbal Division to probe the matter and submit a report at the earliest.
Special teams were constituted and they started raids for arrest of the accused.
A case was also registered against the suspended police officials, he added.
