Mirpur: All arrangements have been finalized across Azad Jammu and Kashmir to celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH), marking the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (PBUH), on Wednesday, August 26, with traditional religious fervor, devotion and reverence. Special programmes, Milad gatherings and processions will be held in major cities, towns and villages across the liberated territory.
Major ceremonies and Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) processions will be organized in Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, Kotli, Bagh, Rawalakot, Palandri, Bhimber, Neelum Valley, Jhelum Valley and Haveli districts, besides all tehsil headquarters and other localities. Religious scholars and Ulema will highlight the life, teachings and exemplary character of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), emphasizing his message of peace, compassion, brotherhood and guidance for humanity.
In Mirpur, various processions will originate from different parts of the city and converge into the main procession emerging from the Central Jamia Mosque on Allama Iqbal Road. A large number of people from different walks of life are expected to participate, while scholars will deliver sermons and pay tribute to the Holy Prophet (PBUH) along the procession routes. Sabeels offering milk and soft drinks will be established by various organizations, while cooked food will also be distributed among the poor, orphans and deserving people.
The streets, roads, bazaars and shopping centres have been decorated with colourful lights, banners and illuminated gates carrying messages associated with Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH). Public and private buildings across the region are also being illuminated at night as part of the celebrations.
