Lahore: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Monday sent Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf activist Falak Javed to jail on judicial remand in Jinnah House attack case.
Police produced Falak Javed before the court after completion of her physical remand and sought an extension to continue the investigation. The investigating officer told the court that forensic examination of her social media accounts and mobile phone was required.
However, Falak Javed’s counsel opposed extention in physical remand.
The court reserved its decision on the police request and later rejected the plea for further physical remand.
The court subsequently sent Falak Javed to jail on 14-day judicial remand and directed that she be produced before the court after completion of the remand period.
Sarwar Road police had registered the case against several PTI leaders and workers on charges of attacking Jinnah House, the official residence of the Lahore corps commander, during the May 9 riots.
