Chiniot: The School Education Department Chiniot on Friday organized a special ‘Back to School’ event to bring out-of-school children back into the educational mainstream, with Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan and DPO Dr. Naveed Atif attending as special guests. Chief Executive Officer Education Waqas Ahmed Gul, district education officers, deputy district education officers, assistant education officers, teachers and students also participated in the ceremony.
During the event, newly enrolled boys and girls were provided free school bags, books and essential stationery by the Deputy Commissioner, DPO and CEO Education, while the children showed great enthusiasm for returning to educational activities.
Education department officials briefed the participants about the district’s overall educational performance, ongoing activities in schools, the enrollment campaign and future targets. They said coordinated efforts were underway to enroll maximum out-of-school children and provide them with quality education and a conducive learning environment. Addressing the ceremony, Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan said education was the fundamental right of every child and no child should remain out of school. She said the Punjab government was taking special measures to bring children into schools and provide them with better educational facilities, urging parents, teachers, the Education Department and all segments of society to contribute collectively to achieving the objective.
The Deputy Commissioner said the administration would ensure the provision of basic facilities along with a quality educational environment in schools. She highlighted the vital role of teachers in character-building and nurturing children’s abilities, urging them to perform their duties with greater dedication, hard work and a strong sense of responsibility. She said concerted efforts were needed to ensure that every child received an opportunity to learn and develop his or her potential.
On this occasion, DPO Dr. Naveed Atif said education was a key driver of social development, peace and prosperity, making it a collective responsibility to equip children with knowledge and skills. He assured that Chiniot Police would play its full role in providing a safe and peaceful environment for school-going children. He urged parents to ensure regular school attendance of their children and pay close attention to their education and upbringing. He termed the enrollment of out-of-school children a significant step towards a better future for society.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of school bags, books and stationery among newly enrolled students, while education officials, teachers and students reaffirmed their resolve to improve the quality of education and bring all out-of-school children into the educational mainstream.
