Quetta: Balochistan Minister for Finance. Mines and Mineral Development Mir Shoaib Nosherwani visited the office of the Balochistan Board of Investment and Trade (BBoIT) and met with its Vice Chairman Bilal Khan Kakar on Monday.
Former Chief Minister Balochistan. Mir Alauddin Marri was also present on the occasion.
The meeting held detailed discussions on promoting investment in Balochistan. particularly the vast potential of the mining and minerals sector. facilitating investors. and advancing sustainable economic development in the province.
During the meeting. the participants reviewed Balochistan’s natural resources. mineral reserves. and available investment opportunities. Various aspects of promoting investment in the mining sector and utilizing the province’s natural resources through modern and sustainable approaches were also discussed.
Provincial Minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani described Balochistan’s mineral resources as a key pillar of the province’s economic development.
He said that the government is focusing on promoting investment in the mining and minerals sector. ensuring transparency. adopting modern technologies. and creating a conducive environment for investors.
He appreciated the role of the Balochistan Board of Investment and Trade in promoting investment and said that Balochistan could be transformed into an important hub for economic development and investment by utilizing its abundant natural resources through modern and sustainable methods.
He said investment in the mining sector would not only strengthen the provincial economy but also create new employment opportunities and promote local industries.
BBoIT Vice Chairman Bilal Khan Kakar said that a transparent. streamlined and investor-friendly mechanism was essential for promoting investment in the mining and minerals sector.
He said Balochistan possesses exceptional potential in terms of natural resources. particularly minerals. with significant deposits of various valuable and commercially important minerals.
He said these mineral resources could be transformed into a strong driver of economic growth through modern technology. responsible investment and effective policies.
He emphasized that greater focus on value addition. mineral processing and the development of local industries. rather than merely extracting raw minerals. could significantly enhance economic activity and create employment opportunities in the province.
Bilal Khan Kakar said that. in line with the vision of Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti. BBoIT is playing an active role in creating a conducive investment environment. providing effective facilitation to investors. and informing local and international investors about investment opportunities across various sectors of Balochistan.
He said BBoIT would continue to coordinate with relevant departments and institutions to help resolve issues faced by investors. identify new investment opportunities. and further simplify and facilitate the investment process.
