Quetta: Acting on the directives of Inspector General Police Balochistan Muhammad Tahir, Police have intensified operations across all seven ranges of the province with a policy of zero tolerance against criminal elements.
According to the police spokesperson, a special campaign is underway targeting proclaimed offenders, absconders, and habitual criminals. Over the past three weeks, police have arrested 43 proclaimed offenders, 296 absconders, and 466 suspects involved in various crimes. In addition, 18 abductees were safely recovered during these operations.
The spokesperson further reported that 102 suspects were arrested with arms, leading to the recovery of 80 pistols/revolvers, 8 Kalashnikovs, 6 shotguns/rifles, 682 rounds, and 55 magazines. In separate actions against drug traffickers, police apprehended 86 individuals, seizing 165 kg of hashish, 3.8 kg of crystal meth, eight bags of gutka, 15 gram of heroin, 106 liquor bottles, and 60 beer cans.
Police also recovered four stolen vehicles, 14 motorcycles, and 15 mobile phones, while black tinted glasses were removed from 4,576 vehicles during the campaign.
The spokesperson emphasized that operations against criminal elements would continue without interruption to ensure a peaceful environment and uphold the rule of law. Instructions have also been issued to police personnel to promote public cooperation, adopt courteous and respectful behavior, and ensure timely redressal of complaints at police stations with transparency.
