Bahawalpur: Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Dr Farhan Farooq visited Cholistan to review arrangements for the 20th International Cholistan Desert Rally.

District Police Officer Bahawalpur Asad Sarfraz, Assistant Commissioner Ahmadpur East, Assistant Commissioner Yazman, officials from Tourism Development Corporation Punjab, Cholistan Development Authority, Traffic Police, Highways, Health Department, and other relevant departments were present.

The deputy commissioner also visited Dilwash Stadium, the starting point of the Cholistan Desert Rally, and other locations. He stated that all arrangements for the rally should be completed on time and in an efficient manner. He said that officials from the relevant departments should carry out their tasks with better coordination. During the visit, the DC and the DPO reviewed security measures, traffic management, and the provision of facilities for participants and spectators of the Cholistan desert rally.

The deputy commissioner inspected the Cholistan Desert Rally track. Meanwhile, he also examined the TDCP resort. The Deputy Commissioner inspected the road construction and repair works as well. Later, the Deputy Commissioner and the DPO visited the Government Primary School in Dera. They met with the students and reviewed the teaching and educational activities.

Kohat: Former District Nazim (DN) Kohat, Engineer Malik Asad Khan has arrived here and met like-minded colleagues to discuss political situation in the region.

On this occasion, regional development, Kohat's problems, political situation and other political issues were discussed in details.

The colleagues participating in the meeting discussed the issues of mutual interest and emphasized on joint efforts to solve public problems for developing the region.

Multan: Advisor to Punjab Ombudsman Mahmood Javed Bhatti said on Thursday that the office of Ombudsman was taking practical steps in resolving public complaints and bringing transparency to the administrative matters of provincial government departments.

Addressing an awareness seminar at the main campus of Punjab Group of Colleges here, he said that people having grievances against any provincial department can file complaint on a simple plain paper. Explaining the procedure, he said that after receiving the complaint, the Ombudsman office conduct investigations itself and then issue orders to the relevant department to address the complaint of the people.

Most of the complaints relate to the maladministration of the departments, Mahmood Javed Bhatti said adding that the Ombudsman office regularly sends its report to the provincial government.

He said that most of the complaints the office received were against police, solid waste management, revenue, and Wasa and added that the Ombudsman office resolves the complaints in just 45 days.

He said that in case the departments have reservations on Ombudsman's decisions, they can file appeal with the Punjab Governor.

In case the complainants are unable to attend hearing, the Ombudsman office can also contact them by phone.

Director South Punjab Cluster Osama Ali, Coordinator provincial Ombudsman Saleem Khan Baloch, and college principal besides a number of students were present.

Peshawar: Another convoy carrying essential relief goods for Parachinar is set to depart on Thursday, delivering much-needed supplies, including food, vegetables, and fruits, to the region.

Official sources said, the convoy will make a stop in Tall to joined other vehicles before continuing toward its final destination in Kurram District. Authorities have implemented strict security measures to ensure its safe passage.

Police officials confirmed that security checks and clearance operations are ongoing along the main highway.

Meanwhile, efforts to dismantle bunkers belonging to both conflicting parties are progressing in phases.

Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has announced a mega package for members of Peshawar Press Club.

The Chief Minister announced a one-time grant of Rs. 50 million for the Peshawar Press Club in the current fiscal year and increasing the seed money of the Journalists' Welfare Endowment Fund from Rs. 128 million to Rs. 200 million.

He announced the package during the oath-taking ceremony of the elected Cabinet of PPC here at CM House.

The Chief Minister also announced doubling the number of scholarships for the children of deserving journalists and issuing allotment letters for journalists' plots in New Peshawar Valley soon.

He further announced to provide solar systems to journalists through a balloting mechanism.

The oath-taking ceremony was attended by Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif (Advisor to the Chief Minister), PTI's Central Secretary Information Sheikh Waqas Akram, Secretary Information Arshad Khan, and a large number of journalists.

Addressing the ceremony, the Chief Minister congratulated the newly elected President, cabinet, and governing body members.

He emphasized that journalism is a noble and highly responsible profession, and if practiced with truth and integrity, its significance increases manifold.

Ali Amin Gandapur stated that a wise person learns from mistakes and stressed the importance of focusing on the future instead of dwelling on the past. He said that if every sector fulfils its responsibilities properly, societal problems will decrease.

The Chief Minister urged that before forming an opinion about anyone, one should think multiple times.

He stressed that those who inform and educate the public must be reliable, and to maintain credibility, one must never compromise on principles.

Comparing Provincial Governments' Performance, the Chief Minister proposed that media houses should organize programs comparing the governance, performance, and revenue generation of different provincial governments.

He suggested that representatives from all provincial governments should present their annual performance reports in such programs, as this would enhance public awareness and fulfil the media's responsibility.

Ali Amin Gandapur stated that his government has significantly improved performance and achieved a 49% increase in provincial revenue, which is unprecedented in the province's history.

He reaffirmed that his government provides unconditional support to journalists and will continue to do so. He stated that his administration does not differentiate between supporters and critics, and due to increased provincial revenue, the government is now in a position to offer even greater support to journalists.
