Lahore: The registration process for the online auction of premium vehicle registration numbers for the month of August has officially commenced through the e-Auction App and Web Portal, developed by the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) in collaboration with the Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department, Punjab.
Citizens can conveniently register online from the comfort of their homes until August 30, 2026, to participate in the auction and bid for their preferred vehicle registration numbers. The e-Auction platform facilitates the auction of registration numbers for motorcycles, motor cars, and commercial vehicles, while details of successful bidders are also made available through the application, ensuring complete transparency throughout the process.
In this regard, PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf stated, ‘The e-Auction platform leverages modern digital technology to provide citizens with a seamless, secure, and transparent mechanism for participating in the auction of their preferred vehicle registration numbers. ‘
He further said, ‘By digitizing the auction process, the platform enhances efficiency, accelerates service delivery, and strengthens transparency while promoting citizen convenience and good governance. It reflects the Punjab Government’s commitment to expanding digital public services and delivering innovative, technology-driven solutions that improve the overall citizen experience. ‘
It is pertinent to mention here that the e-Auction App and Web Portal eliminate the need for physical visits, enabling users to complete the registration process online with ease. The initiative is part of the Punjab Government’s broader vision to modernize public service delivery through digital transformation and improve accessibility, transparency, and operational efficiency across government services.
