Kot addu: In line with the visionary leadership of Punjab's Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, significant progress has been made on the Model City Project aimed at addressing the city's long-standing sewage issues.

The Managing Director of Punjab Municipal Development, Syed Zahid Aziz, confirmed the acquisition of a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Environment Department, clearing a major procedural hurdle for the project.

World Bank Program Officer Salman Mirza announced the imminent commencement of the mega sewage and water treatment initiative, funded with an investment of Rs1.25 billion. He expressed optimism that work would begin by mid-January or February, offering much-needed relief to the residents.

Former Provincial Minister for Prisons, Malik Ahmad Yar Hinjra, played a pivotal role in advocating for the project, emphasizing the urgent need to tackle Kot Addu's critical sewage drainage problems. 'An underground sewage system will be installed across the city to provide a long-term solution to waterlogging and sanitation issues,' he stated.

The Deputy Commissioner of Kot Addu has been lauded for facilitating the completion of essential paperwork, which has expedited the project's launch. Salman Mirza also noted that once the Irrigation Department grants its NOC, work on the water treatment plant will proceed without delay.

This development promises to improve urban infrastructure significantly and enhance the quality of life for the citizens of Kot Addu. The project reflects the government's commitment to sustainable urban management and environmental conservation.

Sargodha: The Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) caught three power pilferers during an ongoing crackdown here on Monday.

According to official sources, a team raided various areas of the district and caught three accused involved in electricity theft from main lines and meter tampering. They were identified as Saleem, Rehman and Dolat Khan. Police registered cases against them.

Abbottabad: In an effort to prioritize gas supply for domestic consumers, all CNG stations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will remain closed on Sundays and Mondays.

According to the latest directives, CNG stations will also operate under restricted hours on other days. From Tuesday onward, stations will function from 8: 00 AM to 5: 00 PM daily until the gas supply situation improves.

Sui Northern Gas pipelines Limited (SNGPL) Hazara division officials have warned that strict action will be taken against any violations of the schedule. CNG stations found operating outside the designated hours will face immediate disconnection of gas supply.

The move is aimed at ensuring uninterrupted gas availability for households during the winter season, as demand continues to surge.

Lahore: The Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC) successfully concluded a two-day capacity-building workshop at the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Regional Centre, Lahore.

The workshop, designed to enhance the professional skills and competencies of IBCC's Lahore office staff, focused on equipping participants with modern tools and strategies to improve operational efficiency and service delivery.

Renowned trainers, including Rana Khawar Paymen, Deputy Director Regional Office Lahore; Kashif, Deputy Director IT; and Ms. Sadia, Deputy Director IBCC, led the sessions.

Their expertise provided participants with valuable insights into key areas such as organizational development, effective communication, and the integration of technology into administrative work flows.

The Executive Director of IBCC, Dr. Ghulam Ali Mallah, graced the closing session, delivering an inspiring address to the participants.

Dera ismail khan: In a successful operation, the Dera have foiled a dacoity attempt and recovered the looted goods in the limits of Cantt police station on Sunday.

According to police spokesman, a team of Cantt police station led by Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) City Circle Muhammad Adnan along with Station House Officer (SHO) Muhammad Sibtain, taking timely action, foiled a dacoity attempt and arrested accused dacoit named Muhammad Gul son of Noor Ullah, resident of Jandola who looted domestic goods from a house.

The police also recovered looted goods including two generators, one electric battery, one air-cooler, two LEDs, one audio-sound system, four ceiling fans, two CCTV cameras, five chairs, two Sofa sets, two tables, four carpets, one agri-spray machine, one motorcycle, and others which were loaded in a Dala bearing registration number C-6667.

The police also recovered an SMG along with 29 cartridges from the arrested accused.

The police registered a case against the arrested accused and launched further investigation from him.

In other operations, the same police also arrested accused Fazal ur Rehman son of Abdul Rehman with two 30-bore pistols along with 26 cartridges, Abdullah son of Ghulam Hussain with a pistol along with three cartridges besides two absconders namely Muhammad Nawaz son of Umar Hayyat and Muhammad Ramzan son of Gul Hassan.

Bahawalpur: Tiger Hockey Club won the final match of Inter-Club National Hockey Championship played at the Dring Stadium Bahawalpur here.

The final match of the Inter-Club National Hockey Championship was played between Tiger Hockey Club and Young Fighter Hockey Club. Tiger Hockey Club won the final match by three goals. Young Fighter Hockey Club made two goals while Tiger Hockey Club team made five goals and won the match.

President, Pakistan Hockey Federation, Mir Tarique Hussain Bugti distributed trophy and prizes among the hockey players. Divisional Sports Officer, Bahawalpur, Aamir Hameed, Coordinator of Inter-Club National Hockey Championship, Karmran Basheer, Inchrage, Hockey Stadium, Qamar Abbas, Secretary and District Hockey Association Bahawalpur, Taimore Sameen Khan also attended the prize distribution ceremony held at the Dring Stadium Bahawalpur.
