WASA launches de-silting campaign

Faisalabad: The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) has launched a de-silting campaign with new modern machines in various localities.

According to official sources here Wednesday, desilting operation had been launched from Zia Town.

The WASA has purchased five new modern de-silting machines which will yield positive results.

The machines have capacity to clean sewerage lines up to 35 feet depth in 9 to 90 inches diameter manholes.

He said that a schedule is being strictly implemented, chalked out by the directorate of operations.

DC visits RHC Lal Sohanra

Bahawalpur: Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Dr Farhan Farooq visited the Rural Health Centre Lal Sohanra and inspected the stock of medicines and reviewed the available treatment facilities.

During this visit, the Deputy Commissioner also examined the ongoing revamping work at the rural health centre. CEO Health, Deputy Director of Development, and the Building Department officer were also present.

While inspecting the revamping work at the rural health centre, the Deputy Commissioner directed that the development work should be completed on time and to a high standard. He emphasized that there should be no compromise on the quality of development work. He also directed the officials concerned to monitor the development work on-site.

RPO visits two police stations in Mianwali

Sargodha: Regional Police Officer Sargodha Muhammad Shehzad Asif Khan on Wednesday paid visit to boundary police stations of Mianwali including police stations Chaapri and Makarwal.

DPO Mianwali also accompanied him the RPO.

He inspected terrorists-hit buildings of police stations and met with Jawans and spend some time with them.

The RPO was briefed that being situated at boundary between Punjab and KPK, terrorists always target these police stations whereas Police Jawans not only defeat them but also remain alert to meet any untoward and emergency like situation.

RPO praised the bravery and professionalism of policemen.

RPO Dera seeks media cooperation for controlling crime


Dera ismail khan: Regional Police Officer (RPO) Syed Ashfaq Anwar on Wednesday urged upon the media to play their role for eradication of all crimes including terrorism from the area.



While talking to local journalists here at his office, he said the range police would perform diligently with the cooperation of media for eradication of crimes from the area.



He emphasized that all available resources and capabilities would be utilized to defeat terrorists and give a strong response to anti-state forces, thereby improving law and order in the area.



He said the Dera police as well as the people of this area rendered matchless sacrifices in war against terror. As many as 121 terrorist incidents took place in the area during last year of 2024, he mentioned.



The RPO said the welfare of the police was also among his priorities.



The media, he said, has an important role in building public confidence as well as for establishment of peace and order in the area. He said the positive and constructive criticism of media would be welcomed as it would help in ensuring better policing. However, he was of the view that fake news should be avoided which causes chaos among the people.



Replying to a question about increasing traffic issues in Dera Ismail Khan, he said a comprehensive traffic plan would be formed with the consultation of trade unions and media persons. He mentioned that the lack of parking in the city was one of the major reasons behind routine traffic mess. The RPO informed that he also held a meeting with traffic police, adding, as many as 20 more personnel and five motorbikes had been given to traffic police on their demand to ensure smooth flow of traffic. Moreover, he said the traffic police also demanded two more vehicles lifters which would be provided to them soon.



Replying to another question about smuggling in the area, he clearly said ‘no syndicate racket would be allowed in the police.’ However, he added that the police would extend all possible cooperation with other departments including customs to control crimes including smugglings.

Crackdown launched against illegal medical labs

Dera ismail khan: The district administration Tank is taking solid measures to provide safe and quality healthcare services to citizens across the district.

As part of efforts, the district administration says that it has launched a major crackdown against illegal medical laboratories under the provincial government's public service agenda.

In this regard, Assistant Commissioner Shaukat Iqbal along with the drug Inspector inspected various medical laboratories and dental clinics in the city's markets.

During inspection, the team sealed an unregistered medical laboratory and two illegal dental clinics.

The AC said such actions would continue to ensure the public has access to quality and safe healthcare facilities.
