Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has approved 37 commercial and residential projects in federal capital during the current year. with a total covered area of 6. 69 million square feet.
The projects were reviewed by the Design Vetting Committee (DVC) of the CDA’s Building and Housing Control Wing during seven meetings held this year. The committee reviewed 42 projects and approved 37 within the Islamabad Capital Territory.
According to the CDA officials here on Monday. the approved projects included commercial and apartment buildings. mixed-use developments. office units. hostels. five mosques and a school building.
The projects comprised 721 commercial units. 1. 981 residential flats and 362 office units.
The authority said the approvals reflected efforts to facilitate construction and investment in the capital while ensuring compliance with the ICT Building Control Regulations 2023.
Measures were also being taken to streamline procedures for approval of building plans. issuance of completion certificates and other regulatory approvals in the housing sector. they said.
The CDA maintained that the regulatory process would continue to be streamlined without compromising the safety and security requirements prescribed under the building control regulations.
