Sukkur: Chehlum procession of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) culminated here with religious zeal and reverence amid heightened security on Tuesday.
The main Zuljunnah procession was taken out from Imambargah Ghareeb Abad Sukkur. The mourners offered Zuhurain prayers near Clock Tower led by Maulana Syed Ghulam Abbas Shah.
Addressing the Chehlum at Minara Clock Chowk, speakers said that Hazart Imam Hussain (AS) was not only a great soldier of Islam but was the symbol of a unique philosophy. Sabeels of water, milk and food stalls were also set-up under the surveillance of security personnel on the route of procession to facilitate the mourners.
Later procession culminated at Imam Bargah Karbala Mola peacefully after marching on traditional route.
Taluka administration had made special arrangements for the procession while local police under the command of Senior Superintendent of Police Sukkur Azhar Mughal maintained complete vigilance to make the event peaceful.
