Chiniot: On the directives of Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Karim, practical measures are being taken to enhance the professional capabilities of police personnel and improve the quality of investigations. In this regard on Tuesday, a training workshop was organized at the DPO Office Chiniot, attended by SP Investigation Muhammad Usman Malik, Deputy District Prosecutor Ali Ehtesham and investigation officers from across the district.
During the workshop, participants received detailed briefings on key aspects of investigating cases under the Anti-Rape Act, narcotics-related offences and other important criminal cases. The trainers highlighted common shortcomings in investigation procedures and shared guidelines for improving the quality, transparency and effectiveness of case investigations.
SP Investigation Muhammad Usman Malik and Deputy District Prosecutor Ali Ehtesham also sensitized the officers about professionally recording and preserving statements and other evidence and their proper presentation before courts. Emphasis was laid on strengthening investigation procedures so that evidence could withstand judicial scrutiny and help secure convictions.
DPO Dr. Naveed Atif said the professional skills of police officers were being continuously enhanced to ensure that criminals were brought to justice. He said effective investigations, collection of solid evidence and adherence to professional standards would help ensure that accused persons involved in criminal activities were brought to justice and punished in accordance with law.
