Chiniot: In line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to ensure safe travel for citizens, the Traffic Police Education Unit on Tuesday launched a comprehensive awareness campaign on road safety and traffic rules in Chiniot. The campaign is being conducted under the supervision of DSP Traffic Khurram Shahzad, with awareness activities organized at different locations across the district.
In-charge Traffic Education Unit Sub-Inspector Ali Raza delivered awareness lectures to citizens and drivers, highlighting the importance of following traffic laws and adopting safe driving practices. Awareness walks were also organized, while pamphlets carrying information about traffic rules and road safety measures were distributed among citizens.
During the campaign, drivers were particularly advised to avoid overspeeding, observe lane and line discipline and comply with other traffic regulations to reduce the risk of accidents. The officials emphasized that responsible driving and strict adherence to traffic rules could significantly help prevent road accidents and protect precious lives.
DPO Dr. Naveed Atif said practical measures were being taken to ensure safer journeys for citizens, alongside the ongoing campaign to prevent traffic accidents. He urged citizens to follow traffic rules for their own safety as well as that of other road users. He also advised people to obtain valid driving licenses and appealed to parents not to allow underage children to drive vehicles.
