City receives rain, more showers expected


Lahore: The provincial capital received widespread rainfall on Monday, bringing pleasant weather to the city.



According to the Monsoon Control Room of WASA Lahore, the highest rainfall was recorded at the WASA Head Office in Gulberg with 64 mm, followed by 55. 8 mm at Shadipura, 53 mm at Mughalpura SDO Office, 44. 8 mm at Mannawan, 44. 4 mm at Johar Town SDO Office, and 36 mm at Tajpura SDO Office. Other areas received light to moderate rainfall, with the average rainfall across the Lahore region recorded at 23 mm.



Managing Director WASA Ghaffran Ahmed visited various rain-affected localities to personally monitor drainage operations and reviewed the field performance of operational teams. He directed officials to ensure the prompt disposal of rainwater and instructed staff to remain fully alert to facilitate smooth traffic flow and minimize inconvenience to citizens.



Meanwhile, the Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast more rain and thundershowers in Lahore and surrounding areas over the next 24 hours.
