Lahore: Managing Director of Horticulture Agency Lahore Ahmed Usman Javed chaired a meeting to review preparations for celebrating Pakistan’s Independence Day in a grand and befitting manner.
The meeting was attended by Additional Managing Directors Tasleem Akhtar Rao and Zona Waheed Butt, Directors Naeem Afzal, Farah Deeba, Ahmed Saeed Manj, and other senior officers.
Speaking on the occasion, Managing Director Ahmed Usman Javed said that Horticulture Agency Lahore is fully committed to making this year’s Independence Day celebrations more impressive and better organized than those of previous years.
He announced that a spectacular fireworks display will be held at Greater Iqbal Park immediately after midnight on August 13, and citizens are cordially invited to participate in the celebrations.
He further stated that the main flag-hoisting ceremony will be held at 9:00 am on August 14 at the Oval Ground, Jillani Park. Prior to the ceremony, special Independence Day floats will parade through various parts of Lahore to promote patriotism and national unity.
The Managing Director added that major thoroughfares, including Jail Road, Mall Road, Canal Road, and Main Boulevard Gulberg, will be beautifully illuminated with decorative lighting, giving the city a vibrant festive look.
He also announced that a free plant distribution stall will be established at Liberty Roundabout, while similar stalls will be set up in every zone of Horticulture Agency Lahore to distribute free plants among citizens and promote environmental awareness as part of the Independence Day celebrations.
