Quetta: Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, in his special message on the occasion of Youm-e-Istehsaal Kashmir, strongly condemned India’s unilateral action of August 5, 2019, declaring it a blatant violation of international law, United Nations resolutions, and fundamental principles of human rights.
He said that altering the disputed constitutional status of Jammu and Kashmir not only lacked legality but also gravely undermined peace and stability in the region.
The Chief Minister emphasized that Youm-e-Istehsaal was observed to express complete solidarity with the Kashmiri people, paid tribute to their immense sacrifices, and draw global attention to the ongoing human rights violations in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He noted that for decades, Kashmiris have been making unparalleled sacrifices in pursuit of their right to self-determination, a struggle that commands the respect and support of the entire Pakistani nation.
Sarfraz Bugti reiterated Pakistan’s clear, principled, and unwavering stance that the only sustainable solution to the Kashmir dispute lied in a free and fair plebiscite conducted in accordance with United Nations Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. He stressed that repression, coercion, siege, and human rights abuses could not weaken the resolve of the Kashmiri nation.
He further said that the people of Balochistan stood shoulder to shoulder with their Kashmiri brothers and sisters, extending full political, diplomatic, and moral support to their just struggle. The Chief Minister underscored that the entire Pakistani nation remained united on the Kashmir issue and would never abandon the Kashmiri people.
Calling upon the international community, the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and global human rights bodies, Bugti urged them to take immediate notice of the ongoing violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, including extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances, restrictions on freedom of expression, and attempts to alter demographic realities. He insisted that India must be compelled to comply with international law and UN resolutions.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment, the Chief Minister declared that the people of Pakistan and Balochistan would continue to stand firmly with the Kashmiri people until a just, durable, and peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute was achieved.
