Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday congratulated Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidates on their election as Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly. The CM congratulated Tariq Farooq on his election as Speaker of the AJK Legislative Assembly and Ahmed Raza Qadri on being elected Deputy Speaker. CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif expressed hope that the newly elected office-bearers would discharge their constitutional responsibilities effectively and play their role in strengthening democratic institutions in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. She also felicitated the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir on the election of Speaker and Deputy Speaker, praying for the progress, prosperity and well-being of the people of region.
