Rawalpindi: Commissioner Rawalpindi Salman Ghani chaired the 19th executive committee meeting of Cadet College Choa Saidan Shah at his office to review administrative, academic, and financial operations, approving merit-based scholarships and infrastructure expansion for students.
Reviewing operational affairs, , the executive board was informed that student enrollment at the institution has increased significantly from 340 to 550. Commissioner said that rising admissions reflect public confidence in the college’s educational standards, directing administration to upgrade boarding, dining, and academic facilities to accommodate the growing student body.
Addressing the forum, Commissioner Ghani emphasized that spending on youth development represents a direct investment in the country’s future. The committee decided to institute merit-based scholarships for high-performing cadets, with directions issued to establish transparent selection criteria.
The meeting also completed a detailed evaluation of the college’s proposed budget for the fiscal year 2026-27, with the Commissioner stressing the prioritized allocation of funds for essential educational needs and strict fiscal transparency.
Regarding institutional leadership, the chair was informed that the advertising, scrutiny and shortlisting process for appointing a new principal has been finalized in accordance with merit guidelines. The panel will submit the recommended candidate panel to the Governor of Punjab for final approval, with explicit orders to ensure full compliance with regulatory procedures throughout the appointment.
