Lahore:Commissioner Lahore Nauman Yousaf on Wednesday reviewed security and municipal arrangements for four matches of the tri-nation cricket series to be held in Lahore from October 25 to 31, featuring Pakistan, England and Sri Lanka.
Presiding over a meeting held to review arrangements for the international cricket event, the commissioner directed the district administration and relevant departments to finalize all measures in accordance with security protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
The meeting was briefed that four One-Day International matches would be played in Lahore during the series, while round-the-clock monitoring would be carried out through Safe City and special cameras as part of the security arrangements.
The commissioner directed the administration and police to establish control rooms for live monitoring of the matches, with focal persons of all relevant administrative departments remaining present there. He also directed officials to identify suitable parking sites and ensure the best possible arrangements for spectators and teams.
Commissioner Nauman Yousaf further directed the Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) to ensure the continuous presence of sanitation workers during the matches. He ordered that uninterrupted power supply be ensured at the venues, along with a backup power source.
The meeting was attended by DC Lahore Ali Ejaz, CTO Abdul Raheem Shirazi, Additional Commissioner Bilal Hassan and officials of the Pakistan Cricket Board and other relevant departments.
