Islamabad: Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has paid tribute to all minority communities of Pakistan for their invaluable contributions to the country’s development, prosperity and progress.
In his message on National Minorities Day, he said that minority communities are an integral part of Pakistan’s national identity, social diversity and collective strength. The Chairman Senate said that the Constitution of Pakistan guarantees equal rights, religious freedom and equality before the law to all citizens.
He emphasized that the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah envisaged a Pakistan where every citizen enjoys equal status, rights and opportunities without discrimination. Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani said that the services and contributions of minority communities constitute a valuable chapter in Pakistan’s national history.
He appreciated their remarkable contributions in the fields of education, health, defence, economy, social services and other sectors, describing them as a source of pride for the entire nation.
He underscored that religious tolerance, mutual respect, harmony and understanding among different faiths are the foundations of a strong, peaceful and united society. ‘Pakistanis belonging to different religions and cultures are a beautiful expression of our national unity and diversity, ‘ he said, adding that equal participation of all citizens in the process of national development is a hallmark of a strong Pakistan.
The Chairman Senate reaffirmed that Parliament of Pakistan remains committed to protecting the rights of minority communities and ensuring equal opportunities for all citizens.
He said that building a strong, prosperous and inclusive Pakistan requires providing every individual with equal opportunities to realize their potential and contribute to the country’s progress.
He said that National Minorities Day serves as an important reminder of the need to promote tolerance, respect, fraternity and interfaith harmony in society. The vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, he added, continues to guide the nation towards equal citizenship, religious freedom and mutual respect.
Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani reiterated that Parliament would continue to play its effective role in safeguarding the rights, protection and equal opportunities of minority communities and all citizens of Pakistan.
He stressed that national unity, interfaith harmony and mutual respect are indispensable for Pakistan’s sustainable development, stability and prosperity.
