Gold price rises Rs2, 400 per tola


Islamabad: The price of gold in the country witnessed an upward trend on Tuesday, with the price of 24-karat gold increasing by Rs2, 400 per tola to Rs459, 736, according to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association.



The price of 24-karat gold of 10 grams increased by Rs2, 058 to Rs394, 149, while the price of 22-karat gold of 10 grams rose by Rs1, 887 to Rs361, 316.



In the international market, gold was quoted at $4, 373 per ounce, showing an increase of $24. Meanwhile, the price of silver also witnessed an increase, with 24-karat silver rising by Rs62 per tola to Rs6, 965.



The price of 24-karat silver for 10 grams increased by Rs53 to Rs5, 971, while international silver was quoted at $64. 86 per ounce, up by $0. 62.



The gold rates were based on interbank exchange rates, with purity set at 999. 1 for 24-karat gold, the association said.
