Abbottabad: Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad Sarmad Saleem Akram on Friday directed the concerned authorities to thoroughly verify records of Auqaf land, ensure its proper identification and take measures for its protection.
He issued these directions while chairing a meeting held to review the status of Auqaf land in the district. The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner General, Assistant Commissioner Headquarters, Auqaf Manager and other relevant officers.
The meeting reviewed the current status of Auqaf land, verification of records, identification of land and measures for its protection. A detailed report regarding alleged encroachments on Auqaf land and other related matters was also presented.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the officers to compile complete details regarding alleged encroachments and ensure accurate and updated records of Auqaf land.
He further directed the concerned officers to submit a comprehensive report on the current status of Auqaf land within two weeks to facilitate further necessary action.
Sarmad Saleem Akram also stressed close coordination among the relevant departments and directed that all measures for protection of government land be taken in accordance with the prescribed rules and regulations
